Project Vehicles

Fast Toys will often make purchases of vehicles for product development, product testing and to showcase at events around the country. It is vital that our staff understand what modifications work, how they interact with each other and how they live up to daily driving and sanctioned auto sports. We are enthusiasts as well and participate in car shows, autocross and drag racing events.

This page hosts a brief description of our project cars and some information and pictures about each of them.

1998 Camaro Z28

This is the ultimate daily driver! Pounding the dyno rollers with 437 rear wheel horsepower, our project Camaro features just about performance upgrade you can imagine. The engine features a Powerdyne supercharger pushing 6 lbs of boost through a custom intake. The intake charge is cooled via an adjustable, progressive alcohol injection system. This allows the beast to run on regular premium fuel. The power is put to the road through a 6 speed transmission directed by a Pro 5.0 shifter and 3.73 gears in the rear end. The stock clutch didn't last long under this kind of power so it was upgraded with a Spec Stage 3 and aluminum flywheel.

The engine is complimented by a LPE GT-3 camshaft, SLP LS6 intake manifold, 38 lb injectors, Mac headers with custom Y pipe and a storm sewer sized Mufflex 4" exhaust system which gives the car a deep, muscle car sound. Custom programming by Fast Toys Performance dialed in with the Dynojet wide band O2 system allows comfortable stop and go driving in any weather condition.

Power is great but you need the looks and comfort to go with it. The leather interior features a heated leather seat kit and a dual guage pillar to monitor engine vital signs. The exterior has an SLP Ultra Z hood, CWS 17" Z06 replica wheels and custom carbon fiber fuel rail covers.

To handle the corners, the suspension was completely upgraded with Spohn LCA's, PHR and sway bars. A Random Technology adjustable torque arms allows for more bite. Bilstein shocks and struts give a smooth yet controlled ride.

2001 Corvette Convertible

When Chevrolet introduced the C5 Corvette, they took performance into the super car realm. We decided this would be ultimate weekend car and would feature mild manners, great looks and world class handling for autocross events.

Starting with 17" front and 18" rear Y2K chrome wheels, the handling was improved with Eagle F1 Supercar tires for every day use. These dramatically improved the performance and lightened the wheels for better drivability. For weekend autocross events, lightweight Z06 wheels were employed using Kumho V710 R compound tires. These easily allow the Corvette to push handling and braking beyond one G!

An agressive alignment was dialed in and Bilstein shocks fitted at all four corners to control the ride. These were supplemented with BMR front and rear sway bars to eliminate body roll.

The interior was boring black GM so it was spruced up with our polished diamond plate show car mats and brushed stainless steel door sills. A chrome exhaust plate was placed in that ugly gap between the mufflers. Key fob power window control was added with a Top Down window valet control.

For performance, a Donaldson cold air intake was installed along with a performance cat back exhaust system.
